What a bash this will be!
Those who have been to Hair O' The Dog before, you know firsthand that The Dog throws one heck of a party!

If you haven't yet attended, surely you've heard the legend of The Dog around town.

Held on the stunning new Philadelphia Belle. After-party at Zee-Bar. Entertainment by Don't Call Me Francis and DJ Jason Smith...

The 2011 Hair O' the Dog promises to be another exciting event!

The Location:
Philadelphia Belle

Come January 15, 2011, The Dog is pleased to be venturing out and taking his party to one of Philadelphia's newest and most stylish venues, the Philadelphia Belle riverboat.

But not to worry all of you land-lovers, The Dog is keeping the boat docked all night long. The only rocking onboard that night will come from our kicking party!

Over the years, Hair O' The Dog has been held at some of the best venues the Philadelphia area has to offer, including the National Constitution Center, Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing, Franklin Institute, Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, the Philadelphia Cruise Terminal, the Ritz Carlton, and Circa.

HOD11 on the Philadelphia Belle.

Christened as the Mississippi Belle II in 1994, the four-deck, paddlewheel-style riverboat operated on its namesake river for much of her early career.

After undergoing extensive $2 million remodeling, the new Philadelphia Belle will cruise upon the Delaware River from her new homeport of Penn’ Landing, between Chestnut and Market Streets, in Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Belle is the largest vessel of its kind on the East Coast.

The top deck is open, with three enclosed decks below where guests can enjoy first-rate entertainment, delicious food and beverages, and original artworks—all inspired by the best of Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Belle’s stern-mounted paddlewheel and classic lines recall the majestic riverboats that plied the Mississippi River during their heyday from the 1800s to the early 1900’s.

The beautifully renovated Philadelphia Belle’s classic lines, paddlewheel and authentic design details are reminiscent of the elegant riverboats of the late 1800s. Join us for the 2011 Hair O' the Dog and experience the genuine grandeur and unmatched style that is unique to the Philadelphia Belle.

The Entertainment:
Don't Call Me Francis
With over 18 years experience in the industry, The Don't Call Me Francis Band is one of the most requested bands  in the Philadelphia Tri-state area and beyond. For 12 Consecutive years, DCMF was voted the Best Band in South Jersey and the Delaware Valley, by the Courier Post's Readers Choice Awards. Named after the famous line from the Bill Murray comedy “Stripes” — DCMF continues to boast a lineup of musicians whose credits include performances with acts like Tower of Power, Blood Sweat and Tears, Paula Abdul, K.C and the Sunshine Band, Gloria Estefan, The Stylisitcs, The Delphonics, Jay Z, Jill Scott, Alecia Keys, Prince, Tony Orlando, Chuck Mangione and the list continues.

DJ Jason Smith
It might be hard for the average person to find the link between country-rock kings Rascal Flatts, 50 Cent and Barack Obama. But in fact, look no further than the man who’s worked with all of them: Jason Smith. The New York City-via-upstate New York deejay has been increasingly building a name for himself through both high-profile gigs (Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy has repeatedly sung Smith’s praises) and steady grinding on the national club circuit. Now, after starting 2009 spinning for the most powerful person in the country (more on that later), Smith is ready to take his vast knowledge of music—where he’s equally at home with The Dead and Phish as Top 40 and hip-hop—to crowds all across the country.

The Charity:
The designated charity for 2011 is Adopt-A-Pig.

Adopt-A-Pig is a program designed to help children and their families cope as they face their greatest challenge, fighting cancer. Proceeds benefit a variety of support services for patients and their families. Pediatric cancer patients and survivors paint and decorate piggy banks, which sponsors adopt and begin collecting donations. When each bank is full, the change inside is counted and a check is sent to Adopt-A-Pig.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear? What exactly does "dressed to the nines mean?"
Look nice. Look sharp. Dress to impress. That means no shorts, no jeans and no t-shirts. Although you can expect to see a good deal of the female attendees in cocktail dresses, you can also count on seeing pant suits, full length dresses, and some fun funky tops/slacks combos. For the guys, tuxes will be out in force, but if you don't have a tuxedo, don't fret, it's not required. Many of The Dog's best friends have shown up in suits over the years. Of course, if you want to get a tux, we've arranged a special deal for all attendees at Blacktie Formal Wear in Center City and Domenico Formal Wear in the Northeast. Mention Hair O' the Dog to receive a special discount off any tux rental or purchase.

Do I have to wear a tux?
Um, once again, no. See above question...or take advantage of the discount The Dog has arranged for you at Blacktie Formal Wear in Center City and Domenico Formal Wear in the Northeast. So now you can stop worrying about this question.

Do I have to wear clothes at all?
Dogs live by different rules and therefore do not require clothing. The Dog's human guests are a different story though...Clothing is mandatory...although on occasion we might allow an exception to the rule...

Have you lined up any extra special promotions for Hair O' the Dog attendees?
Do you really think we wouldn't be hooking you up with some rockin' deals in conjunction with the event? Of course we took care of you...

  • Black Tie Formal Attire
Complete tux rental for only $75!!! at www.BlackTiePhilly.com. Mention "Hair O' The Dog" when you call for your discount. They will even DELIVER to your hotel!

  • Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing
Need a hotel room?? The Dog always says to drink responsibly, so get a room! The Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing is literally right next door to the Philadelphia Belle. Call 215-928-1234 for reservations before they are sold out! Additional hotels within shouting distance include the Comfort Inn and the Sheraton Society Hill.

  • King Limousine
Call King Limousine for a ride in style. Mention Hair O' the Dog and receive a 20% discount on any limo or transporation service booked for the 2010 Hair O' the Dog.

Why should I buy tickets early?
Well, for one reason, the last three year's VIP tickets sold out weeks before the event itself and very few General Admission tickets were left the night of the event. And although the Philadelphia Belle can hold a lot of dog lovers, it is our smallest, most intimate venue ever. We can almost guarantee that tickets will sell out.

If I'm driving, where should I park my car?
Parking is available on site at Penn's Landing in front of the Philadelphia Belle. Of course, other lots are available along the waterfront and at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing
, but this lot is definitely the most convenient since the event is right there! The Dog also wants to take this moment to say to anyone planning on coming by car: pick a designated driver or stay the night at one of the convenient area hotels — but don't drink and drive!

If I want to stay over, where should I stay?
While The Dog is the ultimate host, unfortunately, his super-sized doghouse is absolutely not large enough for everyone. Fortunately, The Dog is pleased to offer some very swanky digs at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing. This also makes it VERY VERY convenient since the party is hapenning right next door! Call
215-928-1234 for reservations. Limited availability, so make your reservations early!

I don't want to have to worry about driving or parking...any suggestions?
The Dog is a firm advocate of leaving the driving to someone else for a party of this magnitude. Call King Limousine for a ride in style. Mention Hair O' the Dog and receive a 20% discount on any limo or transporation service booked for the 2010 Hair O' the Dog from King Limo.
